Cranberry Marmalade

2 oranges
1 lemon
1 1/2 cups water (+ 1 Tbsp)
1/8 tsp soda
1 lb cranberries (4 cups)
6 ½ cup sugar
½ bottle of liquid pectin or 1 pkg liquid pectin

Cut oranges and lemon into quarters (1/8 best).
Cut crosswise into wafer thin slices.
Add water and soda.
Bring to boil. Simmer covered for 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
Add cranberries. Simmer covered for 10 minutes.
Measure five cups fruit mixture into very large saucepan
Add sugar and mix well.
Over high heat, bring to full rolling boil and boil hard one minute sirring constantly.
Remove from heat, stir in pectin. Skim off foam with metal spoon.
Stir and skim seven minutes to cool slightly to prevent floating fruit.
Makes about 8 one-half pint jars. Seal.
